Mobile platform — a set of technologies and solutions based on them to build distributed applications in mobile communication networks, combining into a single system for the Internet and mobile devices are the standard GSM (phones). A typical architecture of applications based on mobile platform looks like a WEB server, plus a mobile JavaME client provides the user interface and two-way exchange of data via SMS from WEB server.
Solution features:
- Using the SMS channel for communication between a client application on your mobile device and the WEB server. In many cases the SMS channel is preferable to other modes of transmission, in particular GPRS:
- The maximum coverage of mobile users. Almost all modern phones support the service, GPRS, but this does not mean that the majority of phone owners use the service. There is a large percentage of citizens (especially the older generation) in which this supplementary service is not configured. Using the SMS channel solves this problem, since it does not require additional configuration after the purchase of SIM cards.
- Guaranteed delivery of package. SMS signal transmitted by the channel management of GSM networks, so the denial is equivalent to denial of the network as a whole. GPRS also has the lowest priority and are at high network load does not work.
- The maximum coverage area. GPRS / EDGE and even 3G is already far from being a rarity in large cities and central regions of Russia, but in remote areas is not the case. For availability of our technology GSM connection is minimal and sufficient condition for operation of mobile platforms.
- Roaming support, including those outside the Russian Federation. Using GPRS / EDGE roaming are still quite exotic thing: not all work and very expensive abroad. SMS is also a reasonable alternative in this case.
- Resistance to load. SMS as opposed to the IP-packet (GPRS) does not require constant communication subscriber ↔ WEB server, and requires fewer resources operator. The operator will attempt to deliver an SMS message even in the case of several failed attempts. In addition, SMS has a higher priority in the GSM networks compared to voice calls and GPRS (lowest priority).
- Collation conflict cases. Cellular operators are obliged to maintain SMS traffic some time — this allows the process to review the conflict if necessary.
- Flexible income scheme with the use of premium SMS and SMS subscriptions. Automatic differentiation is possible the client application, depending on the country by sending a special configuration messages.
- Flexible system of interaction with a client: messages generated by the WEB server can come in a standard telephone mailbox, or be intercepted and processed by the client’application.
- Opportunity to gather statistics on the countries (regions) and used phone models.
Certificate of state registration number 2008615807 was given for system to transfer data via SMS-channels.
Example
As part of the development of mobile platforms the implementation of the logical game «Sarov Towers» (http://www.bashni.org) has been completed. The test operation of the project showed:
- Proliferation of mobile games to 53 countries around the world
- Real operation ability of the platform on the phones of leading brands of manufacturers (http://bashni.org/supported_phones).
In the process of implementing the project two certificates of state registration (№ 2008615806, № 2008615808) were issued.
Product Development
Currently, the specialists of the department are working in several directions:

- Consideration of the possible commercial introduction in the market of games for mobile phones.
